Hello. I’m Dr. Çisem Gürel Slomić.

I’m a psychologist who works with children, teens, and adults. I offer psychological counseling, coaching, and academic counseling services in both Turkish and English at the Psychological Counseling Hub.

I obtained my PhD in Preventive Mental Health Care at the University of Amsterdam. As a psychologist, I’m trained in Rogerian therapy, REBT, SFBT, Schema therapy, and CBT.

I’m registered in Het Kwaliteitsregister Jeugd (SKJ).

I obtained my Master’s degrees in Psychology & Child Development and Education at the University of Amsterdam (ResMa; cum laude) and Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Boğaziçi University (high honors).

I’m currently working at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Previously, I worked as a visiting researcher at Stanford University and Southampton University in topics related to growth mindset and published in top-tier journals.

Additionally, I worked as a lecturer at Utrecht University and the University of Amsterdam for a combined total of 8 years. Finally, I worked as a school psychologist in multicultural schools in Turkey for over 10 years.

With 18+ years of experience as a psychologist and scientific researcher, I support individuals and groups from different developmental groups to flourish.
